Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
- ½ cup honey (for drizzling)
- ¼ cup crushed walnuts or almonds (optional, for garnish)
Recipe Instructions
Preparing the Dough:
- In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
- Gradually add warm water and vegetable oil, kneading until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover and let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
Shaping & Frying the Khoshali:
- Roll out the dough to about ¼-inch thickness.
- Cut into small squares, triangles, or traditional oval shapes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan until hot.
- Fry the dough pieces in batches until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serving:
- Drizzle warm honey over the fried pastries.
- Sprinkle crushed walnuts or almonds on top for extra crunch.
- Enjoy with hot tea, yogurt, or fresh fruit!
